Sand casting

Mould Casting
Mould casting is the manufacture of cast parts with permanent moulds (“coquilles”). The industry makes the distinction between gravity coquille casting and low-pressure mould casting.

Compared to sand casting, mould casting involves a faster cooling of the smelt (higher heat flow through the use of metallic permanent moulds) which leads to denser, finer-grained structures and hence better mechanical parameters.
